Children’s mental health remains a growing concern across the country. Experts emphasize the importance of prevention and promoting everyday mental wellness, not just responding when challenges arise.
A national survey conducted by Ipsos on behalf of The Kids Mental Health Foundation, founded by behavioral health professionals at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, reveals key insights:
- Only 35% of parents strongly agree that they know the daily habits kids need to support mental wellness, even though 97% believe having access to mental health resources is important.
- 41% of teachers strongly agree they know the right habits for promoting mental wellness in children, while 96% agree access to resources is important.
- 47% of coaches strongly agree they understand these daily habits, yet 98% say mental health resources are valuable.
To help address this gap, The Kids Mental Health Foundation, a 501(c)(3), in partnership with the Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF), has launched a new PSA campaign featuring real parents, teachers, and coaches. The campaign shares accessible, free tools to support children’s mental health. To learn more or access materials, visit KidsMentalHealthFoundation.org.
