OAAA Announces McKinney New York’s Joe Maglio to Serve as  Chief Judge for the 2020 OBIE Awards

OBIE Awards Now Open for Submission

October 28, 2019 (New York, NY) — The Out of Home Advertising Association of America (OAAA) has announced the jury for its 2020 OBIE Awards program. Joe Maglio, CEO of McKinney New York, will serve as chief judge on a jury of seven advertising and creative executives, who will determine which out of home (OOH) ad campaigns earn top honors for creativity and design.

“OOH is an incredibly powerful medium,” said Maglio. “A smart strategic approach combined with a great creative execution in OOH has the stopping power that other media environments can’t match. Even a single billboard can move the needle for a brand when done well. That’s why I’m excited to be the chief judge for the 2020 OBIE Awards – a show that has honored the best OOH work for decades.”

The full 2020 OBIE Awards jury include:

Joe Maglio, Chief Judge
CEO, McKinney New York

Mike Byrne
Founding Partner/Global Creative Officer, Anomaly

Jeff Honea
Creative Director, National Geographic Society

Chief Creative Officer, Grey West

Carlos Moreno
Global Chief Creative Officer, Cossette Communications

Kelly Peppers
Chief Executive Officer, Colossal Media

When asked what he expects to see as an OBIE judge, Carlos Moreno at Cossette said, “I will be looking for a simple creative idea that not only has had actual impact, but it has also been brought to life with magic.”

The 2020 OBIE Awards is now open for submission. OOH campaigns that ran within the 2019 calendar year are eligible for entry. Entries must be received by Friday, December 13, 2019. Access full OBIE Call for Entry Guidelines and enter at obieawards.org.
