NEW RESEARCH – Back to School Shopping 2021: Consumer Intent & OOH Opportunities

Back to school (BTS) is the second largest retail selling season behind end of year holiday shopping. The 2021 BTS shopping season will likely produce record sales given the past year of pandemic-driven educational disruption. New research from OAAA and OnDevice finds over two-thirds of BTS shoppers plan to spend more than in 2020, and almost half will spend $501 or more on BTS supplies. The study also found 60 percent of BTS shoppers said they’ll be looking for OOH ads to provide them with information promoting special sales and deals.
