The Out of Home Advertising Association of America (OAAA) is the national trade association for the U.S. out of home (OOH) advertising industry. Representing 850+ member companies—ranging from media owners to ad tech platforms to brand marketers—OAAA serves as the unified voice of the OOH sector, championing the medium’s unique power to drive results in today’s omnichannel, data-driven world.
Position Summary:
OAAA is seeking a strategic, editorially-minded, and social-first Content Marketing Manager to lead the creation and execution of content across all marketing and communications channels. This role is central to telling the story of the OOH industry—supporting member engagement, elevating the medium’s presence, and amplifying OOH’s influence across media, policy, and culture.
You’ll manage a dynamic content engine that spans thought leadership, social media, and public relations—while playing a visible role in live event coverage and industry storytelling.
Key Responsibilities:
Content + Editorial
- Serve as the organization’s managing editor—leading the development of an integrated content calendar across blogs, newsletters, member stories, bylined articles, and more
- Write and edit a wide range of marketing and communications copy across the full marketing team, including campaign messaging, promotional materials, event communications, brand positioning, and advocacy support
- Ensure consistency in voice, tone, and messaging across all channels and audiences
- Lead production of flagship content, such as the monthly newsletter, OAAA’s Annual Report and high-profile program launches
Social Media Strategy + Execution
- Own OAAA’s social strategy and execution across all platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, X, Facebook, etc.), driving visibility, engagement, and growth
- Craft and post high-impact social content with a strong understanding of audience, format, and storytelling best practices including but not limited to OOH case studies, best creative of the week, etc.
- Monitor trends, industry conversations, press mentions and cultural moments to keep OAAA and the OOH industry relevant and responsive
- Build out and implement member engagement best practices through strategic content, social media, and communications initiatives
- Produce short-form video, Reels, and visual assets to support real-time storytelling and event recaps
Live Event Coverage
- Lead social and content coverage for key OAAA-led events (e.g., OOH Media Conference) and select industry moments (e.g., Advertising Week, OOH Week NY, and others)
- Plan, capture, and post live updates, behind-the-scenes content, speaker moments, and social-first video content
- Collaborate with internal teams and partners to extend on-site coverage into post-event storytelling and thought leadership
Analytics + Optimization
- Analyze performance across channels using tools like Sprout Social and native analytics platforms
- Provide actionable insights and recommendations to improve engagement and maximize ROI
- Conduct regular audits to refine content, messaging, and campaign execution
What We’re Looking For:
- 3–5 years of experience in content marketing, editorial, communications, or journalism
- Outstanding writing and editing skills, with a strong editorial voice and attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to manage content for social media, web, and press
Proficiency in Sprout Social, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, and CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress) - Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience producing live social content at industry or branded events strongly preferred
- Background in media, advertising, trade associations, or B2B marketing a plus
Preferred Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or a related field
