OAAA’s 2026 Safety & Technology Summit Delivers Actionable Insights

by Andy McDonald, SVP, Government Affairs, OAAA

OAAA’s Safety & Technology Summit, held last week (March 24–25) in St. Louis, was an outstanding success, bringing together a record number of safety professionals, operations leaders, and technology experts from across the OOH industry for two days of learning, collaboration, and real-world problem solving. Evolving from OAAA’s long-standing Safety Seminar, this year’s Summit expanded its focus to explore how technology, data, and operational innovation are reshaping safety and performance.

The event was highlighted by a strong lineup of expert speakers from throughout the industry, including leaders from media companies, engineering and inspection firms, technology providers, and OSHA itself, as well as highly practical sessions designed to deliver immediately usable takeaways. Attendees gained critical insights from presentations covering OSHA compliance, fleet and motor carrier regulations, electrical safety, fall protection, and structural integrity. Standout sessions included OSHA’s presentation on core regulations, an interactive OSHA mock trial, and deep dives into digital billboard maintenance and troubleshooting, structural inspection standards, and common failure points. The program also looked forward, with engaging discussions on how software and AI are transforming operational workflows, reinforcing the industry’s commitment to continuous improvement and modernization.

Just as important as the content was the opportunity to connect. From the bus ride to tour DDI Media’s corporate headquarters and shop, to tours of St. Louis attractions and impactful OOH displays, to the welcome reception, networking breaks, and the closing reception, attendees were able to participate in candid conversations and idea-sharing while strengthening relationships across companies and disciplines.

OAAA extends its sincere thanks to all of the sponsors whose generous support helped make the Safety & Technology Summit possible. Their commitment to advancing safety, innovation, and best practices is essential to the continued growth and success of our industry. With maximum capacity attendance, meaningful dialogue, and actionable insights, the 2026 Safety & Technology Summit once again demonstrated the industry’s shared commitment to safer operations and smarter, more sound infrastructure.
