OOH is a resilient marketing channel and local business is the backbone of our industry, so I was not surprised to see our industry grew 2% in the first quarter of 2025 despite economic uncertainty. If you’re like me, you’re always looking for opportunities that can lead to more growth!
The first 2025 OAAA Independents’ Summit at the May OOH Conference helped position smaller OOH companies for greater success by focusing on critical issues we face daily. Led by moderators Gina Stratford, Matt Hood and Pudge Roberts, and supported by subject matter experts, our three sessions were attended by over 225 participants. If you haven’t seen the panel recaps by our moderators, you can view them here: OOH Measurement, National Sales, and Programmatic.
The OAAA Independent Advisory Group devoted much time and focus to produce a Summit we felt would address our industry segment’s most pressing matters. We were thrilled to see the Summit programming received some of the highest ratings of all conference content. Thank you again to our sponsor, Blip/Adkom, and to our expert panelists. We’ve got a tall order to produce an even better Summit in 2026, but we’re up to the challenge and I hope to see you in Dallas next May 11-13.
Another valuable offering OAAA is making available to Independents is through their new partnership with BIA Advisory Services. BIA offers local advertising forecasts, insights, and effective strategies for driving revenue and helping ensure overall business success. Through affordable special pricing available only to OAAA members, you can get DMA-level detail on product category and competitive ad channel trends to determine what categories and channels are growing, which are contracting, and much more.
This August, BIA will be providing an OAAA member webinar on their Summer 2025 Local Ad Survey, so please look for updates on the date and time. In the interim, if you’d like to learn more about their offerings, please contact Christina Hurley, BIA VP of Sales, at [email protected].
As always, please reach out to me, or our OAAA staff liaisons, Steve Nicklin ([email protected]) and Mike Hershey ([email protected]), with your ideas on topics you’d like to see as the focus for our Independent OAAA conference programming, webinars and other content.
Happy selling and let’s keep the momentum going in 2025.
