6 Finalists Up for 2019 OOH Media Plan Awards

Date: October 28, 2019

The annual OOH Media Plan Awards program invites competitors to measure their out of home (OOH) planning prowess, striving for top honors.  The program celebrates outstanding use of OOH advertising by recognizing strategic placement of messaging, excellent creative design, and proper application and attribution of data.

OAAA is delighted to announce this year’s six finalists:

  • Outdoor Media Group for Pepsi
  • OUTFRONT Media for The Citadel
  • Posterscope for Jack in the Box
  • Posterscope for United
  • Publicis Media for Allstate Insurance
  • Rapport for New Balance

Here is a sneak peek at some of the campaigns competing for an OOH Media Plan Award:

Rapport for New Balance
In Q4 of 2018, New Balance signed a multi-year endorsement deal with Toronto Raptors all-star Kawhi Leonard. Months later, he was leading the Raptors on a historic playoff run that advanced the team to the NBA Finals. Within days, Rapport leveraged impactful, geotargeted, and contextually relevant digital OOH units in the Raptors hometown Toronto, along with San Francisco (home of opponent Golden State Warriors), during the NBA playoffs.

Posterscope for United

New Yorkers tend to think of JFK and La Guardia airports as the default choice and discount Newark, United’s hub, as a viable option. Posterscope engineered and executed a campaign using consumer data and a synced traffic feed to post real-time drive times to Newark versus JFK or LGA on digital OOH screens. The high-frequency messaging was delivered by LinkNYC screens, digital bus shelters, digital newsstands, and digital taxi tops.

Publicis Media for Allstate Insurance
To promote Allstate’s Milewise program, which allows insurance policy holders to pay based on miles driven, Publicis Media crafted and executed a multi-format OOH campaign to budget-conscious consumers in New Jersey who drive less than 10,000 miles per year. Transit ads, including bus shelters, ferries, and bike shares, targeted commuters; and search, display, and social rounded out the fully immersive plan.

The 2019 OOH Media Plan Awards winners will be announced during the Advertising Club of New York’s Annual OOH:Now Conference on Wednesday, December 5. Detailed case studies of all entries will be available online to OAAA members following presentation of the awards.
