NEW YORK, April 20, 2016 – Lamar Advertising Company was recognized with the Ad Council’s Crystal Bell award at today’s TAB/OAAA Out of Home Media Conference & Expo in Boca Raton, FL. Each year, this award is presented to one out of home (OOH) advertising company for their extraordinary contribution to the Ad Council’s public service campaigns.
The Ad Council, a national non-profit organization, is the largest producer of public service campaigns in the U.S. Through partnerships with non-profit organizations and federal government agencies, the Ad Council works to drive change on public issues through PSAs and innovative communications programs. All Ad Council campaigns are posted to donated media space. The OOH advertising industry ranked among the Ad Council’s top supporters of providing pro bono space in 2015, donating nearly $300 million in public service advertising.
This year’s Crystal Bell Award was presented to Lamar Advertising Company for their exceptional generosity, leadership, and commitment to driving change around social issues. In 2015, Lamar provided broad market exposure for more than 30 Ad Council campaigns.
“We’re extremely grateful to all of our OOH advertising partners for their continued support of our campaigns,” said Lisa Sherman, President and CEO of the Ad Council. “Our partnership with Lamar Advertising Company brings nationwide attention to the challenges that caregiving presents and helps provide resources for families in need. We are extremely grateful for all of the support that they give to our campaigns. ”
Over Father’s Day weekend last June, Lamar used its digital platforms to bring nationwide attention to caregivers by highlighting the Ad Council and OAAA’s Caregiver Assistance Roadblock. Lamar’s contribution generated over 1 million digital OOH placements in 25 of its top markets.
"Out of home is a powerful medium, and we are proud to use our inventory to help raise awareness of critical social issues impacting communities across the U.S.," said Sean Reilly, CEO of Lamar Advertising Company. "Giving back is an integral part of Lamar Advertising Company's culture, and we are honored to have been selected as the recipient of the Ad Council's Crystal Bell Award."
