'Summer of Hope' billboard campaign aims to bring home missing children

WASHINGTON (WJLA) -- The faces of missing children from D.C., Maryland and Northern Virginia are appearing on electronic billboards across the nation's capital.

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children announced today it is partnering with Clear Channel Outdoor Americas. The center will provide images and Clear Channel will display them on dozens of its electronic billboards at bus stops.

The effort is dubbed the "Summer of Hope Billboard Campaign" and it will run from now till the resumption of school.

The program launched in D.C. and Baltimore but will expand in the coming weeks to Chicago, Minneapolis and Los Angeles.

Today the parents of missing children applauded the program as a great tool in the quest to bring lost kids home.
