The governor's race is being taken to new heights using your tweets.

Some 800,000 cars pass by the billboards on Interstate 94 near Highway T in Waukesha County every day.

Clear Channel Outdoor President and General Manager David Ford said they're trying something different with the governor's race using Twitter.

"We're encouraging people to be involved, get educated and to vote," Ford said.

They're taking tweets from the public and displaying them on 49 different digital boards in the Milwaukee area, remaining non-partisan and letting voters express themselves.

People can go to Twitter and tweet a message with hashtag #iVoteMke.

Once that tweet is sent, it goes through a process before being put up on the billboard.

"We monitor all the boards, quality as well as messaging, and then in this program down here is where we actually go in and aggregate the data that actually sends out to the boards," Clear Channel Outdoor Digital Media Manager Joe Stribl said.

Stribl said the tweets are also checked by a third-party company to make sure they're appropriate. Dozens of messages are coming in every day.

"Usually after morning and afternoon drive times you'll see that peak come up and a lot of times in the evening you'll see that people are tweeting a lot more," Stribl said.

They want the tweets to keep coming as the race for Wisconsin governor intensifies.

Clear Channel Outdoor said it will be running live results on the billboards the day of the election.
